
Accessing your MIX (email) account
- Log onto http://www.mix.wvu.edu
- Enter your user name (this can be looked up in STAR) and your password. Your password is your day of birth and the last four digits of your 700 number. (If you were an instructor prior to July of 2005, your pin will be your day of birth and the last four digits of your social security number.) Press Enter
- You can email your class, if you tell them how to use their MIX accounts.
How to find your new WVU ID
- Go to https://centralid.wvu.edu/wvuid/
- Choose if you want to look up your WVU ID with your MIX account or with your social security number.
- Put in your info.
- Still having trouble? Call the Help Desk at 304-293-4444. Explain that you are an Extended Learning student and have them talk you through your technical issue.
Accessing your WVU enrollment list
- Log onto http://star.wvu.edu
- Click on STAR access
- Click on Faculty & Advisor Login
- Your User ID is your WVU identification number (700-000-000) and your pin number is your day of birth and the last four digits of your 700 number. (If you were an instructor prior to July of 2004, your pin will be your day of birth and the last four digits of your social security number.) Press Enter
- Make note of your personal information; your MIX user name will be listed here.
- View your class list of enrolled students. Check this periodically throughout the semester, especially before the end of the course.
- If a student is not listed on the class list, and they submitted a registration form, have them contact our office to see why they aren’t enrolled.
Entering Grades Online into STAR
- Log into your STAR account.
- Click on STAR access
- Click on Faculty & Advisor Login
- Your User ID is your WVU identification number (700-000-000) and your pin number is your day of birth and the last four digits of your 700 number. (If you were an instructor prior to July of 2004, your pin will be your day of birth and the last four digits of your social security number.) Press Enter
- Click on Final Grades.
- Select the term (Fall, Spring, or Summer)
- At the CRN a drop down arrow will list all the classes you are teaching.
- Click on the CRN you wish to issue grades for.
- Scroll down thru your list of students and make sure they are all listed.
- Click on the grade you wish to assign for each student. Please note that professional development courses are graded Satisfactory (S) or Unsatisfactory (U).
- Press the submit button. (This must be done at the end of each page of students.) *Note: If you have more than one page of class names and you need to get to the next page, at the bottom of the page you will see a page listing, such as 1-20, 21-40, etc… Just click on the next range of student names.
- Enter grades for other courses you are teaching or log out. *Note: In case you get timed out before you have completed all student grades, follow the above instructions where you left off.
