The cost of courses offered through Extended Learning varies according to program. Below is a general overview of tuition costs. The definition of each of the fees which make up tuition are explained here. However, some programs are available to non-residents at resident rates through the Southern Regional Education Board or at a reduced rate through the Regional Incentive Fee for counties bordering West Virginia. Note: not all programs are available in all areas.
Please follow the links below to calculate the cost of your course(s).
Students taking undergraduate classes are charged depending on the college of their major. For example, a student majoring in business will be charged the College of Business and Economics rate even if he or she is taking a psychology class. If you are taking classes one time only and are not in a major at WVU, please see the guest pass rate.
Students enrolled in Extended Learning classes do not have access to the Student Recreation Center or athletic facilities because they do not pay the full fees that on-campus students do. However, off-campus students may choose to pay an optional fee of $245.00 per semester. This provides access to the student recreation center, the PRT, and athletic events (if tickets are available). Information on student ticket distribution for home football games can be found at https://www.ticketreturn.com/wvu. Students who wish to pay this fee can do so by visiting the Office of Student Accounts located in the basement of Stewart Hall or by calling (304) 293-4006.
Billing Questions
Students will receive an e-mail via their MIX account when bills are due and they can easily pay through the STAR Information System. Students have an option of adding their parents' e-mail address to this notification. For more information please see http://finance.wvu.edu/osa/billing.cfm.
